对于文艺作品,启动共情的责任人

观众可以理解文艺作品的情绪,但是观众自身没有投入情绪,应该归咎于谁?我个人认为,应该归咎于文艺作品创作者,而不是指责观众。考虑一个极端的例子,假定能搞到政府的某种负面有关事情的涉及名单(eg,新冠死亡名单)和对应人的背景,那你也不可能同等强度的对每个条目对应的人投入足量且相对平衡的情绪。不然的话,一个名单对应的数目,总比一个故事多数十,乃至成百上千吧。那投入情绪真能实现对应倍数吗?某种意义上,文艺作品就是利用了智人的脑结构的特殊性质,而智人投入情绪也不是按照什么非常合理的原则的。那这样的话,如何调动情绪显然就应该是创作者考虑的问题。

When the audience can understand the emotions of an artwork with lack of emotional engagement, who should be blamed for? The creators of the artwork should be blamed, not the audience.

Consider an extreme example, assuming that you get access to a government list of something negative, say, a list of Covid-19 deaths, and background information of corresponding people, it is just not realistic to invest a sufficient and relatively intensity-balanced amount of emotions into each person corresponding to each entry. Otherwise, a list usually can contain dozens of, hundreds of or even thousands of stories compared with the particular one described in an artwork. Is it really possible to offer the same multiples of concern? In a sense, literature takes advantage of the special nature of the brain structure of homo sapiens. And emotional engagement of homo sapiens is not based on some very reasonable principles. To draw a conclusion, it is the matter of the creator to consider how to evoke empathy.
